Week 7 EOC: Career Goals

Week 6 EOC: Seduction of The Online Web Surfer

1. Pictures: You want to have good pictures that captures the viewers attention. You have to keep it fresh and upbeat, keep it interesting. Show pictures of what you have done so far and any photo shoots that you may have done as well, any kind of projects.

2. Videos (Sizzle Reel): You want to be able to show the viewers what you can do and what better way than a sizzle reel, include all your work that you have done, and make sure its the most interesting ones you have done so far.

3. Color: Color is everything, if it,s to boring or to dark, or maybe to plain then it can either make it or break it. You have to make sure you choose the best color and stick to that, don't overuse colors either. I like to stick to dark colors but add some white, gray, and blue, to me this makes it seem fresh.

4. Font (Style): You should have a nice font and make the style go with the font that you choose to use. Everything has to go with each other and has to match up.

5. Social Media: You have to let the viewers know that you are interesting and people want to follow you on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. You should have all your social media accounts linked to your website, such as a twitter feed.

Week 5 EOC: Whatever Works

To get my dream job I feel like I shouldn't have to change who I am. You should always be yourself no matter what. Sometimes there are things you have to change to become better and if thats what it takes to get a job you have been wanting then you have to make the appropriate changes, but always for the better. Never degrade yourself and do what is best in your eyes. In the movie she changed everything about herself, she let her artistic side come out more. She started doing things she has always wanted to do. This kinds of changes are good, always do what your heart tells you, follow your dream and never let any    one or anything make you feel and think that you cannot do them. Be confident in yourself.

Week 4 EOC: The Devil Wears Prada - Deeper Meaning

The deeper meaning of the movie The Devil Wears Prada is that you should always be ready for a job interview. Do some research about the company. You should know who you are going to be working for and with who. What kind of company you applied for. Don't jut apply not knowing what you're getting yourself into, always do your research. You should no how to dress properly to an interview, how to walk, sit, talk, and present yourself properly. In The movie she went to the interview not knowing what she applied for. She did not know the editor, she didn’t know who she was. It makes you look disinterested when you don’t know who you are going to be working for and don’t do your research. She was confident and I give her props for that but she did lack knowledge. She believed in herself that she can do the job, she was willing to work hard and learn. But when you apply for a job you should already know what you are doing. Her confidence in herself is what got her the job I believe. The editor saw it in her and she wanted to give her a chance. Even if you don't have the right experience alway have confidence and believe in yourself that you can get the job done at the end.

Week 3 EOC: Swingers - Deeper Meaning

The deeper meaning of the movie Swingers is about just going out and meeting new people, networking, etc. You should be honest with others. Don't lie about who you really are and what you do because it can backfire in the end, never lie about yourself. Don't oversell yourself because you make yourself look ridiculous and no one will want to be interested in you. Be confident and believe in yourself. You should know how to talk to people and be able to engage different crowds. Always stay interested in others conversations and show that are interested in getting to know them. During the movie the character that was going out on dates being played by Vince Vaughn’s shows that he is not confident talking to people nor he is confident with people talking to him. He lacks the ability of staying social and keeping an interesting conversation.

With a deep intention of heart, I wish to serve in this field of engineering as a sound engineer. Hope my talent will prove very productive in growth of the company in upcoming days.

Week 1 EOC: "Voice"

I come from a small town located in the central coast of California called Santa Maria. As a kid I was always surrounded by art. As I grew up I enjoyed simple things like drawing, taking pictures, filming, and deejaying. I would go to the beach and lakes and take pictures. In high school during the rallies I would usually be the one taking pictures and filming as well as deejaying when I could. I would deejay house parties as well and I really enjoyed doing it. After high school I moved to Las Vegas and I would help my uncle set up the sound systems for events that he had going on. That's where I got my first experience as a professional. I would work with Mexican bandas, mariachis, norteño grupos, etc. I would also do some photography and filming whenever I can as well. I would set up and be in charge of setting up and breaking down at the end. Also I would be in charge of the board and making sure everything is working properly. Since I’ve attended The Art Institute of Las Vegas I have acquired the skills as an audio tech from mixing and editing to basic camera skills. Not only that but understand and know to trouble shoot equipment and is needed I’m able to fix it, basic electronic engineering skills. I’ve been offered gigs such as being a deejay at one of the clubs on the strip. Ive also been offered to film company events.
